Built on iron, steam,
and European ingenuity.

For over a century and a half, the name behind Sollesta-Nielsen has been synonymous with the hard work of building — ships that crossed oceans, chemicals that powered industry, dams that tamed rivers, and infrastructure that lifted nations.

Ours is not a story of trading floors and ledgers. It is a story of steel and soil. Of Scandinavian engineers standing knee-deep in Brazilian clay. Of turbines spinning in North African gorges. Of a restless European ambition to go where the work is difficult and do it properly.

Today, that legacy lives in the Philippines — over 150 years of European expertise, applied to the frontiers of sustainability.

1867

Scandinavian Foundations

Established in Northern Europe as a maritime trading enterprise — moving raw materials across the Baltic and North Sea during the age of industrial expansion. The waters were cold; the ambition was not.

Late 1800s

Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry

Expanded into shipbuilding and marine engineering. Iron hulls took shape in Northern dockyards — vessels that would carry cargo across the Atlantic and into emerging trade routes around the world.

Early 1900s

Chemical Manufacturing

Entered industrial chemical production — refining, processing, and supplying the raw inputs that fueled Europe's manufacturing boom. Factories hummed through two world wars, keeping supply lines alive.

1930s

Hydroelectric Dams in North Africa

Designed and constructed hydroelectric facilities across North Africa — harnessing rivers in unforgiving terrain to deliver power to regions that had never known it. Concrete and turbine, precision and patience. Engineering at the edge of the possible.

Mid-Century

Infrastructure in Brazil

Brought European engineering to South America. Roads cut through jungle. Bridges spanned rivers that had no crossings. Civil works across Brazil — building the backbone of a developing nation's modern economy, one pour of concrete at a time.

21st Century

The Renewable Pivot

As the world turned toward sustainability, so did we — redirecting 150 years of industrial expertise toward biomass, waste-to-energy, and the circular economy. The same hands that built dams now build supply chains for a decarbonized future.
